Patrick Masson

Executive Director

Patrick joined Apereo as Executive Director in 2023, serving previously as Interim General Manager of the Foundation. Before Apereo, Patrick served as General Manager for the Open Source Initiative after working within higher education IT for over twenty years, including roles as CIO within the State University of New York and CTO at the University of Massachusetts' Office of the President. He was the Director of Technology at the SUNY Learning Network and the UCLA Media Lab.

Wilma Hodges

Community Coordinator

Dr. Wilma Hodges serves as Community Coordinator for the Apereo Foundation, where she focuses on strengthening relationships across Apereo’s global community, deepening engagement with institutional and community members, supporting new Communities of Interest, mentoring student organizations, and advancing collaborative initiatives that support open source in higher education.

Michelle Hall

Communications Manager

Michelle Hall is the Communications Manager for the Apereo Foundation and leads internal and external communications across the organization. Her work includes newsletters, social media, press releases, website and event content, and communications supporting Apereo’s projects and community leaders. She helps share the stories, people, and ideas that connect Apereo’s global open source community.

Heather Greer Klein

Community Manager for the Samvera Community

Heather Greer Klein is the Community Manager for the Samvera Community, an Apereo Foundation project that develops and maintains a suite of digital repository platforms and related tools.

Phyllis Dobbs

Controller

Phyllis holds a BS in Accountancy from Clemson University and an MBA from Duke University and is a licensed CPA in Illinois.

Jenn Cummings, CMP

Community & Membership Manager

Jenn began her career as a meeting professional in 2002 and has worked alongside Apereo and its predecessor organizations for 20+ years. She has a knack for learning new skills and working with diverse groups of people, and she especially enjoys community and volunteer leadership. She has spent the vast majority of her career working with open source, library and higher education technology organizations.

Josh Baron

Development Officer

Josh Baron joined Apereo as the Foundation's Development Officer in 2023. Josh spearheads the fundraising initiatives and sustainability strategy for the Foundation and the communities and projects it serves.

Kathy Azevedo

Event Coordinator

Kathy is instrumental in planning Apereo's major events, especially the Apereo micro-conferences and co-located events. Kathy also assists with external Apereo communications, such as social media and newsletters.

Christian Alexander

Head of Business & Partnerships Development

Christian Alexander started his career on Wall Street, spending 14 years at Goldman Sachs where he was named a Managing Director. During that time he lived in Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and New York City. After Goldman Sachs, he started a business representing Wall Street professionals in career transition on an agency basis, like professional athletes. Now at Apereo he is responsible for enhancing the funding model, generating contributions, and developing external relationships.
