Apereo Webinars Now on Youtube!

Did you know that just because you missed a Sakai or an Apereo webinar doesn't mean that you missed a Sakai or Apereo webinar?

It's TRUE!

Webinar highlights are now posted under the new Apereo Events, Past Events section. The webinars are also being recorded and uploaded to Youtube. The Community has an Apereo Channel and a Sakai Channel.

Recent Sakai videos include a discussion about the Sakai Wiki's Future and an update on the STEP project (Samigo Tests and quizzes Enhancement Project).  The Sakai Wiki Future video is a community exploration of where we go with our Sakai wiki tool. It is an "old style" wiki (i.e. depends on a special markup language rather than a rich text editor). We are trying to figure out if it is feasible to write a new wiki or perhaps leverage existing open source wikis with their own development cycle and community, leveraging the wonderful IMS LTI standard for an integration.  The STEP project webinar presented the progress being made by a grass roots planning group that emerged as part of the Sakai Virtual Conference. The Sakai Virtual Conference raised over $12,000 which we are using to make improvements to the Samigo Test and Quiz tool, based on input from the Community on which improvements they would most like to see in Sakai.

Recent Apereo videos include a presentation on the Learning Analytics Landscape and a presentation on a project new to the Apereo community, Unitime . And, as a bonus there is an awesome 1.5 minute video promoting the Open Apereo Conference!  Learning Analytics is "the use of analytics to help target instructional, curricular, and support resources to support the achievment of specific learning goals". Categories for learning analytics applications include academic early alert systems, data visualization, student advising and recommendations, and adaptive learning.  Unitime is a comprehensive educational scheduling system which supports developing course and exam timetables, sharing rooms, and scheduling students to individual classes, with the ability to distribute responsibilities across a number of administrative departments.

You can keep up with future uploads to these channels by subscribing to their respective Youtube channels. So go ahead, watch a video of a webinar you've missed, subscribe to our channels, or plan to attend future webinars. They are a great way to keep up with goings on in the community. And don't forget, you can miss your webinar and watch it too!
