The uPortal developers are pleased to announce the release of uPortal 4.2.0-m1, a milestone release towards uPortal 4.2.0.

This release is not intended for production adoption.

This release is intended to

  • Increase awareness of progress towards uPortal 4.2.0,
  • Make that progress readily reviewable in a QuickStart release,
  • Prompt discussion of when to release uPortal 4.2.0, navigating tradeoffs between releasing sooner with less or later with more.

This release demonstrates progress in:

  • Marketplace functionality for discovering content, launching it, and adding it to the layout.
  • Administrative tooling, both in the Web UI and at the command line.
  • Search
  • User experience for extending sessions about to expire
  • And more!
