Apereo Foundation Partners with Eclipse Foundation’s Open Community Experience to Present “The Open Community for Research” in Brussels

The Apereo Foundation is proud to announce a new collaboration with the Eclipse Foundation’s Open Community Experience (OCX), the flagship open source developer conference taking place 21–23 April 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. Together, the two organizations are co-locating The Open Community for Research, a two-day gathering dedicated to exploring how open source accelerates the translation of research into practical, scalable technologies.

Anchored by the Apereo Foundation, The Open Community for Research brings together academic researchers, public institutions, and industry innovators to examine how collaborative development models turn scientific discoveries into sustainable, production-ready solutions. Participants will gain insights into real-world applications of open source in research environments—ranging from reproducibility and data transparency to the deployment of open infrastructure that supports global collaboration.

As part of this collaboration, Apereo and Eclipse invite researchers, developers, and open source contributors from around the world to submit proposals for talks, panels, and demonstrations that highlight open source’s role in advancing research and education.
