We are pleased to welcome Christian Alexander (C.A.) to the Apereo Foundation staff as our new Funding & Partnerships Development lead.

Christian brings a global perspective and deep financial expertise to Apereo. He began his career on Wall Street, spending 14 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was named a Managing Director. During his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Christian lived and worked in Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, and New York City, gaining first-hand experience across international markets and complex organizational ecosystems.

Following his time at Goldman Sachs, Christian founded a business focused on representing Wall Street professionals during career transitions, operating on an agency model similar to that of professional sports. This work further strengthened his experience in relationship-building, strategic advising, and aligning talent with long-term opportunity.

As the lead of Funding & Partnership Development, Christian will guide Apereo’s efforts to cultivate strategic relationships, secure sponsorships, expand institutional and commercial memberships, and develop sustainable business pathways that strengthen both the Foundation and its project communities. This role is critical to Apereo’s long-term sustainability strategy and its mission to support open source adoption and collaboration across global higher education and research communities. His background in finance, strategy, and global relationship development will be instrumental as Apereo continues to expand its impact across higher education.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis, an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

We are excited to have Christian join the Apereo team and look forward to the leadership, insight, and partnerships he will help cultivate in support of open, community-driven education technology.
