Olawale Fabiyi

Olawale Fabiyi is the Founder and Executive Director of the Open Digital Sovereignty Initiative (ODSI), visibility infrastructure for Africa's open source ecosystem, built for policy impact. ODSI documents African open source projects and the people behind them, and advocates for African open source interests in continental and international policy conversations.
 

Over more than seventeen years, Olawale has worked at the intersection of technology, government engagement, and grassroots impact across West Africa and Southeast Asia, building inclusive digital systems that work across institutions of differing technological capacity. As Technical Advisor to the Gambia's Ministry of Higher Education, he leads implementation of a World Bank-funded national education management system serving institutions across the country's higher education sector.
 

Olawale holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence. He also founded the Open Source Academy, an OSI affiliate, and is an invited speaker at international platforms including SCaLE 23x in the United States and the Eclipse Foundation's Open Community Experience (OCX) in Belgium, on inclusive open source systems.
